Dwight

Dwight is a small community located in the Lake of Bays Township Municipality in the District Municipality of Muskoka in southeast Ontario. More specifically, the town is situated along Highway 60 on the shores of Dwight Bay of the Lake of Bays. Although a quaint community, Dwight offers residents and cottage country vacationers excellent amenities, including biking and hiking trails, scenic spots, and premier boating opportunities. It's the perfect place to settle down or spend time in during the summer.

Dwight, Ontario Community Information

Dwight is also the northern corner of a triangle formed by the towns Dorset and Baysville, encompassing the various bodies of water that make up the Lake of Bays. Dorset is approximately 15 minutes away to the south, the town of Huntsville is 20 minutes away to the west, and Bracebridge is around 40 minutes to the southwest.

The journey between Toronto and Dwight is around 2 hours, or a little over 200 kilometres. Many Greater Toronto Area residents purchase a summer home in Dwight as a big-city escape.

Dwight falls within Ontario’s popular cottage country, which lies on a geological formation known as the Canadian Shield. This vast area is characterized by rocky outcroppings, dense forests, and thousands of lakes. Dwight often bills itself as the “Gateway to Algonquin Park” as the popular destination is a relatively short distance to the northeast. In fact, the west gate for the park is less than 20 minutes away along Highway 60.
